Terms
Effective 28 October 2026
Plain-language terms for using DJ Sync, the Mac app and the DJ Sync cloud it talks to. By using DJ Sync you agree to them.
Free, as is
DJ Sync is free. It’s provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and may change or stop at any time. To the extent the law allows, its makers aren’t liable for any loss or damage from using it.
Your music, your responsibility
DJ Sync is for personal DJ preparation. You’re responsible for having the right to download and use any music you ask it for, and for following the laws and the terms of the services involved, including Spotify, YouTube, OpenAI and Anthropic. Buy the music you play out.
Your Rekordbox library
DJ Sync changes your Rekordbox library on your instruction. It backs up the library before every change and lets you restore any backup, but no software is perfect: keep your own backups of anything you can’t lose.
Your links
Your assistant links work like passwords. Keep them private; rotate or disconnect any link you think has leaked. You’re responsible for requests made with your links.
Fair use
To keep DJ Sync free for everyone, each Mac has limits: up to 25 links per request, about 200 jobs a day, 50 jobs waiting at once, about 600 assistant requests an hour and 10 assistant links. Don’t try to get around them or overload the service.
Third-party tools
DJ Sync downloads yt-dlp, spotdl, ffmpeg, deno and uv from their official sources. They’re separate projects under their own licences.
Not affiliated
DJ Sync isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by AlphaTheta / Pioneer DJ, OpenAI, Anthropic, Spotify or YouTube.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows the current version; continuing to use DJ Sync means you accept it.
